Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Traene (“Traene,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use traene.com, related school sites on our platform, and our apps or APIs (the “Services”).

This is a DRAFT placeholder for sandbox testing. Have California privacy counsel review and replace this document before relying on it for compliance.

Effective date: July 21, 2026.

Who we are

Traene provides multitenant software for martial arts schools and gyms (scheduling, members, media, messaging, store, and billing tools).

For school member rosters, photos, chat, and school billing data, Traene typically acts as a service provider / processor to the school. For Traene platform accounts, SaaS billing to school owners, and this website’s own operations, Traene acts as a business / controller.

Information we collect

Account and profile data: name, email, password (hashed), role, belt/skill level, profile and gallery photos, and related school membership fields.

School business data: school name, address, phone, branding assets, and public marketing content the school publishes.

Event RSVPs: guest name and email when you RSVP without an account.

Payments: processed by Stripe. We store Stripe customer/payment identifiers and limited payment metadata (for example card brand and last four digits), not full card numbers.

Communications: invite, password reset, school notice, and receipt emails; delivery logs may include recipient address and message metadata.

Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, cookies/local storage needed for login sessions and shopping carts, and security signals (for example reCAPTCHA tokens).

Virtual Trainer: webcam or local practice video is processed in your browser for pose comparison and is not uploaded to Traene servers by default.

How we use information

Provide and secure the Services; authenticate users; operate school features; process payments; send transactional email; prevent fraud and abuse; improve reliability; comply with law; and communicate about the Services.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in this draft configuration. If that changes, we will update this Policy and provide required opt-out links.

How we share information

With the school that invited or hosts your membership (owners, instructors, and other members as needed for school features).

With service providers such as hosting, database, email (Resend), payments (Stripe), cloud storage (AWS S3), and bot protection (Google reCAPTCHA), under contracts that limit their use of the data.

If required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to appropriate protections.

Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you may have the right to know/access, delete, correct, and opt out of sale/sharing of personal information, and to limit use of sensitive personal information where applicable, subject to exceptions.

Submit requests at /privacy/requests or email privacy@traene.com. We will verify your identity before fulfilling requests. You may use an authorized agent as permitted by law.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising CCPA rights.

Categories of personal information we may collect map to identifiers, commercial information, internet activity, geolocation (coarse, from IP), sensory/visual information (photos/videos you upload), and inferences related to training progress within a school.

Children and minors

Traene is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13 without verifiable parental consent where required by COPPA.

Schools that invite teens (13–17) are responsible for obtaining any required parental/guardian consent for accounts and photos before using Traene. Prefer keeping minor photos non-public unless consent is clear.

If you believe a child under 13 has an account without proper consent, contact us to delete it.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies for authentication (session token) and local storage for store carts. Security tools such as reCAPTCHA may set their own cookies.

You can control cookies through your browser. Disabling essential cookies may break login.

Retention

We retain personal information as long as needed to provide the Services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Schools may request deletion of member data they control. RSVP and email logs may be retained for a limited operational period and then deleted or anonymized.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

International users

Services are operated from the United States. If you access them from elsewhere, you understand information may be processed in the U.S.
